City advises of urgent water supply main upgrade affecting Phoenix and Joe Slovo in Milnerton

26 October 2023

The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will be doing an urgent upgrade on the water main supplying the Phoenix and Joe Slovo areas in Milnerton tonight. This will result in the water supply to these areas being shut-off from 20:30 on Thursday, 26 October 2023 overnight until 03:00 on Friday, 27 October 2023. The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused.

Residents of Phoenix and Joe Slovo are currently experiencing low water pressure. The Water and Sanitation maintenance team will therefore be upgrading a section of the pipeline to improve the water pressure in these areas. This requires that the water supply to these areas be shut off to enable the work to be done safely.

Residents in these areas are kindly requested to store enough water in advance and also to keep their taps closed during this period to prevent water loss and/or damage when the water supply is restored.

A water tanker will be made available to provide water for domestic consumption where required.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its customers.

For updates on the maintenance work (and location of tankers where applicable), follow @CityofCTAlerts which is a City of Cape Town Twitter account.
